What is a
Psychoeducational Assessment
A psychoeducational assessment delves deeper into how your brain works. Using various assessment tools, we examine your child's cognitive processing skills, including thinking and reasoning skills, as well as memory, language processing, visual/motor skills, and executive functioning. This assessment helps us understand your child's areas of strength and areas of need, guiding decision-making in and out of the classroom. We believe this assessment can clarify past struggles and inform future decisions, providing the information needed for your child to thrive. By the end of the assessment, you'll have a better understanding of your child's learning profile and a clear direction for supporting their success now and in the future.
Learn how to work with your brain, not against it
Give context and meaning to past challenges
Uncover your motivators, strengths, and resilience
Make informed decisions for your future
What To Expect
1
Initial Meeting
The parents, student (if applicable), and psychologist come together to talk about what's happening now, look at past information like school reports, previous tests, and doctor's notes, and highlight the needs within the assessment.

2
Psychological Testing
Through parent interviews, child interviews, and questionnaires we gather comprehensive information about your child's cognitive and academic skills, attention issues, and overall mental health. Testing occurs over 3 appointments in 2-3 hour sessions where there will be plenty of breaks!
3
Report Writing & Recommendations
The psychologist synthesizes test results, interview insights, and questionnaire findings into a comprehensive report. This report not only summarizes the findings but also offers recommendations for strategic school accommodations and home-support strategies.

4
Feedback
A feedback session will be scheduled four to six weeks after your last appointment where you will meet with our psychologists to review the results and recommendations. Together, you will discuss the best course of action moving forward.
