Sydney is a clinical social worker registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
She has experience supporting children and families in both healthcare and community settings for the past several years. She has expertise providing support to families who have experienced perinatal and postpartum depression and anxiety, as well as pregnancy and neonatal loss. Her clients have experienced challenging physical and mental health concerns, including chronic illness, depression, and anxiety.
Sydney works from a client-centered approach, utilizing techniques and strategies from CBT, DBT, and welcomes clients using a strengths-based perspective and a trauma-informed lens. She is compassionate, non-judgmental, and works to help clients develop resiliency and healthy coping skills.
In addition to working at Daurio Counselling, Sydney is a paediatric social worker at St. Joseph’s Health Centre working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Paediatric Unit. She also provides social work support to the Labour & Delivery and Postpartum units.
