Amanda Farber, MSW, RSW

Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist

Individual and Family Therapist

Amanda is a social worker registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers, Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).

It takes courage to begin the journey of therapy and Amanda is proud of her clients for taking the first step. Amanda works with young children, teens and parents. Amanda intends to help clients with developing coping strategies, and recognizing their strengths.

When working with clients Amanda uses a strength-based, collaborative approach. Amanda pulls from therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioural therapy, solution focused therapy, and utilizes mindfulness exercises. When working with younger children Amanda incorporates play into her sessions. Amanda has worked with children and youth with various mental health concerns such as ADHD, anxiety, autism, low mood and low self-esteem.

Amanda also has experiences with parent coaching. Amanda acknowledges that being a parent is hard work! Being a parent can be a gift, and can also be extremely stressful. With that being said, Amanda works with parents to find a parenting approach which works for them.

In addition to Daurio Counselling, Amanda is currently working at North York General Hospital’s Phillips House, which is home to child and adolescents outpatient mental health programs. While working here Amanda works with teens, young children and their parents.
